Seeing as how I missed out on Vecchiali summer, this article is here to shame me into submission. :)
The detail, context, and love you poured into describing his cinema is so artful! Just beautifully written and full of great quotes (the one I connect with most is probably “The margins are a liberation because society is obnoxious.") Seriously, wonderful work as always.
Where do you suggest I start if I'm want to dip into a Vecchiali fall?
Jericho! This absolutely made my day — thank you so much for taking the time to read (and leave such a kind comment). I know Vecchiali isn’t the most familiar name to many, so hearing that this piece connected (and even sparked a potential Vecchiali fall) … well, I’m downright thrilled.
As for where to start, I’d highly recommend Rosa la rose, fille publique. It’s sensual, emotionally intricate, and feels like a perfect entry into his world. Encore is another fantastic option. Both are very different but equally representative of his tenderness and sense of theatricality. If you do check one out, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Oh gosh, thank you so much for reading, Eric! Means so much, as this piece truly was a labor of love. That quote about his legs-first credo is my favorite, too :)

I’ve been looking forward to this piece, and it’s beautiful!
The comment about feeling lying in the legs… I’ll be thinking about that all day.
