Let’s rewind and revive, shall we?
Upon receiving his honorary Oscar in 1990, Akira Kurosawa took the stage, deeply honored, and said:
“I have to ask whether I really deserve it. I'm a little worried because I don't feel that I understand cinema yet.”
These words have always resonated with me. No matter how deeply I immerse myself in the world of film, I know there’s always more to learn, absorb, and share. But it’s this unending journey that makes it so rewarding.
Hello! I’m Marta Djordjevic, though you might know me online as Marta McFly. Six years ago, I began my freelance writing journey, which eventually also led me to the world of cinema-specific content creation and podcasting. Along the way, I’ve developed an obsession with uncovering hidden gems and exploring classic cinema — the building blocks of so much we watch today.
That’s the mission of Rewind & Revive: to revisit, rediscover, and breathe new life into films that deserve a place in our daily lexicon. Through this publication, I hope to share these treasures and my love for cinema with you.
Here, you’ll find a mix of film reviews (new and old), production stories, and curated lists of what I’ve been enjoying. Occasionally, I’ll release podcast episodes featuring discussions on film history, interviews with industry professionals, and conversations with peers about the titles closest to our hearts. From time to time, you might also come across more personal posts — whether it’s a written piece or a voice note — when inspiration strikes and I feel extra cheeky chatty.
Cinema has the power to connect us, to expand our horizons, and to leave lasting impressions. Rewind & Revive is my celebration of the art form I love most. So, come explore my personal cinema… just no talking during the feature, okay? 😉

As I embark on the early stages of Rewind & Revive, your support means everything to me. If you’d like to leave me a small tip to support my work, you can buy me a coffee here.
While I’m not paywalling content just yet, there’ll be exclusive goodies for subscribers as this space continues to grow (hehe).
